Never Enough Time!

Before having children I could relax and put my feet up at the end of the day with a sense of accomplishment.  Now I do still put my feet up after putting the children to bed but I never feel like anything is done!  The to-do list just keeps getting longer and longer.  The stuff that HAS to be done is always done such as cleaning the kitchen for the next day and doing some laundry and picking up most of the toys.  It just feels like time isn't on my side anymore and there's never enough hours in the day!

I have hobbies and interests I never get to do anymore such as scrapbooking, cross stitching or even reading.  It takes me a good week or two just to get through a magazine I can't be bothered with newspapers anymore of even watching the news.  I have no idea what's going on outside of these four walls most days!  And of course here I am blogging which I would like to have more time to do.  I was working out but that has taken the back burner lately due to lack of time and I've been focusing more on eating healthy instead.  I rarely get a chance to call friends and say hi which makes me sad but I'm sure they understand how much of my day my two favorite little people take up at this point in my life and hopefully I'll be forgiven.

My focus has turned to what activities can I do with the children, meal planning and coupon clipping since it's true when they say children are expensive.  I also make sure that I do take a little time to myself each evening even if it's only half an hour or so to relax and maybe have a glass of wine.  I go back to work in six weeks and can imagine things will be getting a lot worse time wise so I've been trying to organize my house and everything in general to make things flow smoother around here.  An organized house usually means a more organized brain and less time spent looking for "stuff".  So until they can add another eight hours or so to my day I'll just keep adding to that to-do "eventually" list!

Weekly Menu Plan!

Though the pizza looks tasty it's not part of this week's meal plan.

1.  Mini meatloaves with broccoli and rice
3.  Cheesy Chicken and Potatoes - done in the slow cooker
5.  Turkey Stuffed Peppers - from a cookbook and done in the slow cooker

I'm following weight watchers so trying to make healthier meals and if the meal is not completely healthy but child friendly I will just eat less and have a big salad with it.

Trying To Survive!

There will be no meal plan this week as I've been away from the computer sick.  I don't have a tablet, Ipad, netbook, internet on my phone or anything of the like that allows me to go online from bed!  I've just been trying to survive the week being sick and still having to parent the kids, cooking etc all while getting rest where I can and it's been tricky.  Most importantly I'm trying to keep my kids and hubby from getting sick too and you can only imagine how hard that is with a toddler whose always putting his fingers everywhere and a baby who sticks everything in her mouth.  Until next week!

Astro Original Greek Yogourt Recipes

The winner of the Greek Yogourt giveaway was comment #4 GloGirl!  Congratulations and I know you'll enjoy the yogourt as much as we do!

I didn't realize there we so many different recipes that could be made with yogourt including muffins, smoothies, dips and others for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  I decided to make my own strawberry banana smoothies very similar to the raspberry ones on the Astro website.   I used frozen strawberries, Astro Greek Yogourt in strawberry, milk, ground flax, carrots (great way to hide veggies), honey, and bananas.  I don't measure anything, just toss it all into the blender and add more milk or yogourt until it's a consistency I like then enjoy as a nice afternoon snack!

My nine month old is very picky when it comes to veggies but she loves yogourt so I would puree veggies that didn't have too strong of flavor such as cauliflower, zucchini and yams then mix it into the Astro Greek Yogourt strawberry flavour and she would just devour every spoonful!  It's working really well to get her to eat veggies and I feel great feeding this yogourt to her with all the nutritional value it has.
